The nature of the river itself is of natural stream fishing, with the benefits of many pools and shallow sections.

The river is full of native, wild brown trout and the syndicate offers a catch and release policy. The best of the fishing in the Spring, May and June are the best months.

Shooting

Please email the Estate Office if you are interested in booking a private or corporate shooting event or for a list of shooting dates.

The mix of woodland and undulating ground across the Estate lends itself well to both game shooting and clay pigeon shooting.

The Charlton Park Shoot has over 20 drives offering a varied mix of birds and includes some challenging shots.

A typical shoot day starts a 9am in a local pub for coffee followed by typically three drives and a short break. The day continues with three or four further drives and ends back at the pub for a late lunch.

The main shoot days are 200 bird which gradually reduce to 125 bird days as the season progresses. Normal drives consist of eight guns but can accommodate a smaller number of guns depending on requirements; we can arrange for smaller bird days by arrangement.

Clay shooting days are provided on the Estate, either as an individual event or as part of a corporate entertainment day.
